Personal Information We Automatically Collect

Payment Information We Collect When You Donate Or Buy Through the Site

Our online payment system is powered by Stripe and PayPal. They provide us with the payment technologies that allow us to accept donations via credit card and in a variety of other ways such as Apply Pay and Google Pay.

When you make payments or conduct transactions through our site or affiliated portals we provide, Stripe and/ or Paypal will receive your transaction information. Depending on how we implement Stripe and PayPal services, the third-parties may receive this information directly from you, or directly from us.

The information that Stripe and Paypal collect will include payment method information (such as credit or debit card number, or bank account information), purchase amount, date of purchase, and payment method.

Different payment methods may require the collection of different categories of information. The payment method information that we collect will depend upon the payment method that you choose to use from the list of available payment methods that are offered to you on the site. When you make a transaction, Stripe and PayPal may also receive your name, email, billing or shipping address and in some cases your transaction history to authenticate you.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers and offline billing information), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Donation/Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Donation/Order Information.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Personal Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).

Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you (such as transactional emails about your order or account);
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud;
  • and When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our activities.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our donors/public browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. In addition to using payment technologies, we use additional third party services to assist our campaigns.

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
